What’s NEW at the Bug?
Well as usual, the Bug Staff has been busy rearranging the store to allow for all the new product coming in! If you’ve been in shopping then you know that we now offer a full product selection of QuicKutz with new shapes arriving monthly. Other items that we’ve seen come in are American Crafts Ribbon, Sakura, Peel Off Stickers, Sassafras Lass, A2Z Essentials, Chatterbox Memory Kits, Pressed Petals Chip Chatter, Reminisce, We R Memory Keepers, Basic Grey, and Bazzill Basics. I’m sure once Kim returns from CHA in Chicago in July that new items will begin arriving daily. Watch for the new product selection beginning in August.

Thank You for your Support
On behalf of the East family and the staff at The Scrapping Bug, we would like to send out our sincerest thanks for all the support you have shown to Sheri East and her family. In March of this year, Sheri and her family lost their home and it’s entire contents in a fire. The amount of support both supply and monetary has been incredible and has meant so much to Sheri and her family. Thank you again for being such kind and generous friends of The Scrapping Bug.

We have already been receiving scrapbook supply donations and the women at St. Monica house are enjoying their new hobby. If you would like to participate by giving product donations, please drop by the store anytime during regular business hours.
For the Love of Chipboard
By Cherie Nymeyer
Chipboard, chipboard, and more chipboard. It seems to be everywhere lately. Some ompanies have finished chipboard so all you have to do is slap some adhesive on the back and place it on your page. Some companies even go as far as to make their chipboard self adhesive, leaving you to only having to figure out where on your page to put it.
Then there are the companies that produce “raw” chipboard. “Raw” chipboard is unfinished chipboard. This means that you can alter it to suit your layout need. To someone who has never worked with chipboard it can seem a little overwhelming or perhaps like too much work. There’s so many possibilities when it comes to raw chipboard that I’m sure you’ll be altering it before you know it.
*Try painting it. You can choose from the myriad of acrylic paint choices to create a chipboard accent that matches your layout perfectly. You can then leave as is or sand the edges for a distressed look.
*Try covering it with patterned paper. Simply place the chipboard shape or letter down on your choice of patterned paper or cardstock and trace it. Then you can cut it out and adhere to the chipboard piece with your favourite adhesive.
*Try placing a sticker on it to create a 3D embellishment on your page. Some companies even have stickers that will fit perfectly on their own raw chipboard shapes.
*Try using a rub-on or stamping on a chipboard piece. You can use multiple pieces or a single chipboard piece to create a title or accent for your layout.
So next time you are in at The Scrapping Bug, ask the Bug Staff to show you all the different chipboard shapes and albums available to you. We currently have chipboard phrases, letters, geometric shapes, flowers, punctuation, and monogram options. Have fun altering!
